Triceratops (Final Piece)

Tricertops (Final)

Finally completed the Triceratops piece, despite all the busy-ness throughout the summer.

As described in the last post, this piece was inspired by my own personal childhood interests in dinosaurs and that such an interest has played a strong role in my childhood imagination. So here, I illustrated the little boy exploring the surroundings with a Triceratops, trolling through a rain forest.

If you like to see the preliminary sketch, you can see the previous June posting below, or click HERE.

FIFA 2010 World Cup: Spain Pin-Up

Fifa Spain Pin-Up

So the finals of the Fifa 2010 World Cup in South Africa has started just an hour ago, and it's indeed an exciting event to watch! As Spain and Netherlands scramble for their first goal, I decided to upload this pin-up illustration as my support for Spain :D Lately I wanted to illustrate a pin-up art after looking into a few illustration books and I feel it be a perfect time to illustrate one. Let the best team win!

UPDATE: This just in, Spain won the finals! :D

Triceratops (Preliminary Sketch)

Triceratops (Preliminary Sketch)

Process piece for a new illustration adding to the "Child's Play" series. I decided it be best to post the process work as opposed to waiting it out to the finish piece since it be more interesting as to how I start off with my concepts for the piece.

This piece was inspired by my own personal childhood interests in dinosaurs and that such an interest has played a strong role in my childhood imagination. So here, I illustrated the little boy exploring the surroundings with a Triceratops, trolling through an exotic rain forest.

Will post the progression of the piece in the days to come.

Child's Play: Flight (Re-Edited Version)

Child's Play: Flight (Re-Edited)

Re-edited version of last-year's personal piece "Flight" of the "Child's Play" Series. I felt that after looking back at the piece I needed to add a few more touch-ups on it, especially that there are a few things I left out in the original piece. It's always a good thing to touch up an old illustration. Aside from that, this piece is about a childhood's imagination while struggling to face the reality of growing up.

On another note, I am currently adding another piece to the "Child's Play" Series, and will perhaps be posting some of the preliminary sketches in the next post, so stay tuned.

Super Lukie (Collaboration Piece with Rachelle Reyes)

Super Lukie (Collaboration Piece with Rachelle Reyes)

Recently I have been illustrating with talented animator/illustrator Rachelle Reyes. Here's a preview at one of our collaborative works. :)

This is one of many illustrations Rachelle and I were currently collaborating for a series of illustration books for our client Lindsey Gardner. This particular illustration is a scene from the author's story "Super Lukie"; a story about a little baby boy who happens to be a secret super hero by night. Rachelle character designed Lukie and water coloured the images, while I illustrated the Diaper-powered Jet and did the digital editing. Both of us worked together in conceptualizing the images for the story. :)

Old Studio Painting

Old Studio Painting

I was just cleaning my hard-drive recently, and I happened to stumble upon this picture of an old painting of mine. If you have ever been to the illustration life drawing room at Sheridan, then this would look very familiar. I painted this during my second year, pulling an all-nighter trying to get this painting done at the time. :)
